This week Filter It Out turns 10 years old.
From set up to fire disaster, awards and van trouble, Filter It Out continues to grow and develop as a business. Expanding and pushing the boundaries of efficient water solutions.
During this week, we are celebrating the fact that Filter It Out has now become a total family business with both daughters now forming part of the team with Hywel (Dad) at the helm.
None of this of course would not have been possible without our wonderful customers, Customers that have stuck with us through it all. Customers that have felt that we are worthy of being awarded. New customers that have entrusted us with their requirements and systems. To you we are truly thankful.
Looking forward to what the next 10 years will bring.
It is with sadness that we have had to say goodbye to Will after a short time working with us. Will has chosen to move onto pastures new and the whole team at Filter It Out wish him well in his new job.
Exciting update on the FSB Business awards.
Remember back in March when the Federation OF Small Businesses announced that we had won the Sole trader of the year award for Wales?
This week came the announcement that the UK Finals will be going ahead virtually, due to the pandemic, on Thursday 27th May 2021.
We are so excited to have the opportunity to be involved and are looking forward to the afternoon.
Wish us luck!
It has been a long, strange and difficult year for many small businesses in the country. We have been fortunate to be able to continue working, ensuring clean water supplies to our customers, old and new.
Our workload has seen an increase this year unlike any other year to date. As a result we have had to search for an apprentice to give Hywel an extra pair of hands.
After working alongside Hywel through December, we would like to officially introduce our new team member - William Allen.
We wish you all the best as you learn the ropes and look forward to working with you in 2021.
Dear Customers,
As of Monday 22nd June 2020, due to high demand, we are now able to receive payments instantly on site for work carried out and parts received. In addition to accepting payments on site, we will also be accepting invoice payments over the phone.
This is a big step for us to provide our customers with additional payment options and convenience.
Accepting instant payments onsite will also reduce our paper usage and will therefore be more environmentally friendly.
We hope to be able to provide this service successfully for all.
Due to the current Coronavirus outbreak please rest assured we are currently continuing to provide our services where possible.
Breakdowns will be answered, attended and if possible resolved.
If anyone requires any parts during the months ahead, Filter It Out will deliver them within the counties of Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.
These are difficult times for all and we hope you are all keeping safe.
Dear Customers,
We're hoping that you're all doing ok in light of recent health concerns over last few weeks. We would like to thank you all for the continuous support and custom.
Recognising the ongoing and increased uncertainty that coronavirus is causing, our number one priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff and customers. We can assure you that we are taking the situation seriously and we are implementing measures to help keep us all safe.
- If you are self isolating, please inform us prior to arrival (if you have filtration equipment inside the property we kindly ask you keep your distance while we work)
- If you are displaying symptoms and self isolating please only contact us if your water supply has failed
- Please ensure access to any locked systems are open prior to arrival
- We carry soap and hand wash in all our vans and will do our bit to take care of hygiene
Anyone requiring bottled water due to failed water systems please contact us.
We're hoping to continue providing our service as usual and that we can keep your water systems flowing as it is vital during these times for human and animal. We will endeavour to reach all breakdowns promptly. Our service will continue to be available following government and local authority regulations and guidelines and of course on well-being of our employees.
Thank you again for your continuous support and trust and if you have any questions or need help please drop us a message.
In the mean time, stay kind, stay safe and look after those around you.
Thank You

Yesterday (Friday 13th March), the Federation of Small Businesses held their FSB business awards area finals at the Exchange Hotel, Cardiff Bay.
We are very excited and proud to announce that Filter It Out won the hugely popular category ahead of other finalists from across Wales.
Unfortunately, we were unable to be there in person at the awards but we are very grateful for the judging panel voting our boss Hywel Phillips as their Self-employed/sole trader of the Year 2020 for the Wales region. The Filter It Out team will now travel to London for the national finals later this year.
As always we are so very thankful to our family, friends and customers for their continued support year on year. The awards we are nominated for mean so much to us and reflects the amazing service we are able to provide.

On the 12th of July, Team Filter It Out travelled to the Pavilion , Haverfordwest, to the Pembrokeshire Business Awards finals evening. Being nominated and shortlisted in the top three was a privilege. To go on and hear Filter It Out being announced the winners just blew us all away. Shocked was an understatement and it was pretty hard holding back the tears of joy knowing how the business has developed and grown from almost losing everything to a fire through no fault of our own a few years back.
It was a proud evening amongst Pembrokeshire's finest businesses and one we shall certainly remember.
The team at Filter It Out would like to say a massive thank you to our customers, friends and family for your continued support year upon year. And a big thank you for putting in the time to vote for us during the public vote. Finally, thank you to the judging panel for considering our little company worthy of the title - Pembrokeshire's Agricultural Business Of The Year.
🌟 Thank You to everyone that took the time to vote for us in the Agricultural category of the Pembrokeshire Business Awards 2019. Our Awards Category Sponsor is Towergate Insurance Brokers. Here is what the articles said regarding the awards.
" One of the UK’s leading independent insurance brokers is showing their support for Pembrokeshire businesses as one of the category sponsors for the Pembrokeshire Business Awards 2019. Now in its sixth year, the Pembrokeshire Business Awards has become a platform for showcasing success amongst businesses across the county. Winners are chosen via a public vote and an expert judging panel and will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony at the Pavilion in Withybush on Friday 12 July.
Development Executive, Louise Reed, said: “We’re thrilled to be involved with these awards celebrating business excellence in Pembrokeshire. From our offices in Haverfordwest, we have seen for ourselves the hard work and innovation that goes into making businesses a success in the region. In Tallis Amos, Puffin Produce and Filter it Out we have three excellent examples of thriving businesses and any one of them would be a worthy winner.
“The fact that the awards have been running for six years is testament to the hard work of the organisers and the calibre of businesses in the area, something we can all be very proud of.”
Mark Lester, Commercial Director at Radio Pembrokeshire, organisers of the Pembrokeshire Business Awards said: “We are looking forward to celebrating some of the region’s brightest business talents this summer. “Without sponsors like Towergate Insurance Brokers, the awards wouldn’t be the annual event that they are today and we’re very grateful to the company, and all our sponsors, for their support.”
🌟 We are very proud to announce that we are a Pembrokeshire business award 2019 finalist for a second year running in the Agricultural Business of the Year section.
It would be a huge achievement for us to win this year but being pitched against 2 large companies it will be tough.
It's fantastic to think that a small, local, family run company can even get to be shortlisted. While the hard work of getting votes in is now in full swing for all companies shortlisted in the public vote, we know our little business will continue to provide the best possible service to all customers whether we win or not.

Last night we sat in front of the TV to watch our very own Hywel Phillips feature on the S4C program 'Ffermio'. Ffilmed at the Dyfed Shire Horse Farm, Eglwyswrw.....the site of the newly opened CADAMM museum, Hywel was part of the series looking at the development of farm machinery over the years and the importance of showing the younger generation for years to come how life on a farm was many years ago.
Did you know that Hywel has a keen interest in vintage tractors and machinery and owns a beautiful Fordson Dexta that he renovated himself.
